Avoiding too many linked notes from one source
How do you avoid having too many links of notes from one source? For example if you are reading a book and the information contained within it is structured in such a way that it is similar throughout. Wouldn’t you have a continuous strand of links due the similarities? How would you know when to start a new note?

I don't. If one source has many distinct ideas and thoughts I make just as many Zettel.
