Zettelkasten and output for my newsletter
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out to get some feedback on a workflow dilemma. I've been using The Archive App for my Zettelkasten and it's been a great tool for organizing my thoughts and ideas. Recently, I've decided to start a new newsletter (in portuguese), and this has led me to question whether I should start writing newsletter essays inside my Zettelkasten or switch to using another app, like Typora, and manage them in a separate folder.
I'm curious to know if any of you have a similar setup or recommendations on how best to manage this. Should I keep everything in a single "folder" or create a separation of contexts in my workflow to have a clear distinction between my note-taking system and my public output?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

What does "inside my Zettelkastsen" mean since not everybody understands that from the most canonical point of view?

I mean my folder with all my zettels or, if you prefer, my notes.
The Archive app works with a single-folder structure (plus a media folder for images), so you can consider everything 'inside my Zettelkasten' as my notes.
But one thing is a Zettel and another is what you build by assembling, referencing, combining, or just using them to create a bigger text composition that you publish elsewhere. I'd create those publications out of your ZK, but if your "digital" system allows it, I'd include the URL or path to each involved Zettel.
In my opinion, there is too much bias on how we should use the ZK due to the workflows comming from the physical version of it. Since the existence of many different digital note-taking systems (The Archive and many others with different functionalities, filtering, views, etc...), there are plenty of ways of dealing with the ZK items and how you relate to them.

I guess the important question would be, what does start writing mean? When publishing is your immediate goal then do it outside of your zk. If you are on a tight schedule you might want to work from draft to publishing on a single document.
If you see publishing as a long term goal and want to prepare a pile of newsletters then you might consider to create your drafts in forms of Zettel.
Zettelkasten is ideal for creative work with lots of parts moving around.

@ivomota I write articles and posts using material "retrieved" from my ZK. However, I do the writing in Scrivener, which is a superb writer's tool. I agree with @daviddelven 's comment that you don't want to confuse zettels with newsletters, articles, posts, etc.
But I can highly recommend Scrivener. I don't have time to praise it fully here (I'm in the middle of baking some gluten-free, sourdough bread), but obviously you can read all about it on the Literature and Latte web site: Scrivener
I strictly separate writing to think from writing to communicate. So, I write newsletters and articles outside my Zettelkasten.

@Sascha Is the result of the writing to communicate then referenced back into the Zettelkasten or even included for further inspection and interrelation?
Thank you, everyone, for your input!
I really appreciate it.
The way I plan to go is to isolate my Zettelkasten from output texts. My Zettels will only feed my essays.
Yes, if I have structures in my Zettelkasten that I can improve based on the developed knowledge in my write-to-communicate-items. Sometimes, I have new insight the old-fashioned way: During the writing process.
But I don't try to be a completionist. So, there is no habit attached to this "Rückverzetteln" (~processing back)
