Zettel Labs vs Zettler's Lair
Dear Zettlers,
we are preparing a learning community. On a monthly basis, you can expect:
- Your questions/suggestions. You can send me questions and suggestions via email. Please use the subject "Zettler's Lair - [Your suggestion]"
- Processing examples. I will process paragraphs or short sections and will comment on my decisions to illustrate the Zettelkasten approach.
- Ideas, techniques and methods in the periphery of the Zettelkasten Method. Having a Zettelkasten invites you to reconsider your entire workflow with such a powerful tool at your disposal.
- You. If your suggestion is particularly intriguing or would be especially helpful to others, I may contact you to work through your issues 1 on 1. (Sample session about the Zettelkasten Method in general) (Another sample session on how to go deepen an idea with the knowledge flower - a inventory of knowledge-related values)
- Discussions about relevant texts. We will explore articles like Rank and File — Real Life and Carter, J. Adam’s The Value of Knowledge. Longer texts will be split across multiple sessions for thorough discussion.
- Discussions on various sections of the Zettelkasten book. You will have access to book content before publication.
I am preparing 24 sessions to make sure that there is never a bottleneck or some hasty filler content for a session, before this offer will be public.
But I am not sure which of the labels I will use: Zettel Labs vs Zettler's Lair
So, what is your preference?
And: Feel free to ask any questions about this in general.

I vote for Labs. Lair makes me feel that someone is going to pounce on me.
Yes, like in the dog world. Just a short hi and then we'll wrestle.
Update: I missed attaching the poll.

I voted for Zettel Lair, as it seems more intriguing, as if there was a mad zettelkasten scientist cooking up something exciting in it.
I was going to go for 'Lab', but 'Lair' sounds a bit more fun, like a game. 'Lab' sounds a bit more clinical and formal.
I voted for Zettler's Lair and then spotted the spelling. I still prefer the Lair as it sounds like it's going to have some secrets that only those in the know will know while Labs seem more about proving specific amounts of these elements gives us that compound.
Exactly right and that's why I'd go with Lab.
Do you ever wondered why well-kept brands have this "bit more clinical and formal" to them? Because people have different life situations, backgrounds and associations with them. You want people to be comfortable with your brand.
Unless you don't, and then you entered the realm of "subculture" and that can be at times a mission critical for a given brand, service, whatever, but I don't see that in the case of PKM.
If I didn't know @Sascha better, if I would come across his stuff for the first time, and he offers me "Zettler's Lair" my first thought would be, this is some D&D type gamification attempt at whatever and I would run away as fast as possible and also have an opinion of him that is much lower than it is in actuality.
Sounds "fun, like a game" is a warning signal that I need to know to stay far, far away. I don't need explicit "fun", my life is fun holistically.
Also, if I have the domain zettelkasten.de my products would either have Zettelkasten in them or no Z-word at all, but certainly not Zettel and God knows I wouldn't use this retarded Zettler anywhere.
I concede however, a freak name like that can be attractive to younger college kids who just invented their new "random" identity to survive socially in their new environment.
So maybe that's a target demographic you want to narrow down to for this offering?
@Perikles I think your argument hits home. I am constantly switching between being formal/serious/precise and being nerdy/edgy/goofy. This is pretty much my personality type.
I think you are right with your sentiment, especially regarding people that never heard about the Zettelkasten Method or me before. I think I have to postpone the goof to a later point.

Will this be similar to the paid workshop or coaching?
Yes. It will be a community for ongoing sharpening the axe of thinking.
