Analog Zettlekasten parts and function
I need clarification to the Zettlekaten parts and their function. For example tags, bibliography etc. I am going to create strictly an analog system. I have yet found anyone to fully explain the exact parts and function. I read Scott’s book but it is very confusing and elusive. The language littered with unclarified concrete explanations. I’ve tried to watch and read as much as possible but still very elusive. Thanks

Hi,
I don't have an analog zettelkasten, anyway I've found useful following zettekasten videos of this channel when i wanted to know more about:
https://www.youtube.com/@ChelleMeadowsConsulting/videos
Chelle makes an analog zettelkasten "into obsidian", but the workflow explained is close to the essence of analog zettelkasten, I think, and is explained in a simple way.
Another channel that talks about analog zettelkasten:

I started my ZK by just using Luhmann's original article: https://zettelkasten.de/communications-with-zettelkastens/
It contains everything you need to know on how to start the Zettelkasten.
I am a Zettler
Fully analog would be 4 things.
-Reference cards, one for each book, sorted by author last name
-Keyword index, start with one card per letter, sorted alphabetically
-literature cards, on which you take your sparse book notes, list of keywords and page number
-main cards, i.e. your main atomic notes
you should consider a "hybrid" system, where references are done in Zotero or plain text file and can make Keyword index in plain text file as well (most text editors have function to sort lines alphabetically- this makes it easy to sort - and in digital file can add simple category #tags because now your index is searchable)
go,go,go; what's your next question?
Hey thanks so much!!!
Jasper what are keyword index topics of study? Thanks
What is a structure note?
You will build your own keyword index as you go. Everyone reads different things so every index is highly personal based on what you are reading and thinking about.
Don't even worry about structure notes now. You can come back to that later.
My text file (I do hybrid) alphabetical keyword index is mostly medical. Here is a section example. Each keyword points to the number of the paper index card where I made that note; it let's me know where my notes are. In the text file, I use #category tags so I can browse those categories if I want.

We have plenty of material about the basic concepts on our website and in the forums, so I'd like to encourage you to try to search in the appropriate search boxes to learn more.
