Simplenote Sync?
in The Archive
Have you considered syncing with Simplenote for The Archive? Doing so would allow apps like Tinderbox to automatically sync. Zettels could then be visualized in the map view, sorted in the outline via attributes/tags, and plotted on a timeline.

We don't want to support proprietary sync technologies, so no, Simplenote is not on our roadmap.
That being said, you can probably use external apps or scripts to sync a folder with Simplenote.
