Possibilities of Plugins

Hi ctietze,

is the new plugin system capable of performing more extensive tasks or, in other words, is it still worthwhile to deal with and learn Keyboard Maestro / Alfred and the existing macros in the forum or will they be replaced by the new plugin system in the future anyway?

    @Marcus One limitation of the plug-in system is that it won't read or create files outside of The Archive. If you're exporting things with a macro to another folder, plug-ins won't do that, yet.

    It's hard to say without judging individual use cases -- to reach feature parity in even more niche and extreme cases with Keyboard Maestro, it will take years. But realistically, I'd argue that a usable and more powerful baseline is not that far off. See the 80/20 rule :)

    Hi ctietze,

    I'm not really interested in actions outside of The Archive. I am currently browsing through the KM macros in the forum and there are some good functions, e.g. suggestions for linking at [[ or inserting the wiki/link using the UID instead of UID+Title.

    Of course, I am now also considering buying KM. So far I've only bought Alfred to use the macro from pryley.

    That would be pretty useless if you come up with more cool plugins in the near future. 😁
