Slow when multiple note links present

I was creating a note that can serve as an index of other notes. Once I reach about 15 note links, typing starts to slowing down. If I type in a bunch of random keys, I can see the cursor unable to keep up. When I have about 50 to 100, typing becomes very slow that it feels very uncomfortable.

Is this a known issue? Any way I can fix this?
