Possible to tell the JSON theme to display citekeys in a different colour?

Hi all, my knowledge of any sort of scripting/coding is pretty limited, so forgive me for what may be a stupid question!

I was wondering whether it is possible with JSON to add a line that would colour citekeys separately from the main body text? Perhaps by applying a rule specifically to text within single brackets [ ] or words beginning with an @ symbol?
