macOS Text Replacement

The app doesn't allow my text replacement shortcuts by default like Notational Velocity, nvALT, nvUltra, etc.

1. Is this something that can be turned on somehow?
2. Don't you think this should be on by default immediately after installing the app?

Yeah I had the same question a few years ago. Easy enough to turn on.
