[First Zettel] The reading of a text must be accompanied by notes and writing
Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and to all this Zettelkasten method. I've tried writing my first Zettel and I would apreciate if you could tell me what I can improve in it! I've written it in Portuguese and auto-translated it to English using Google Translator (imma be honest here, I'm too lazy to translate it manually… -

Re: Title length sweet spot
I, too, write my titles with an eye towards search. Note titling is an art form, and, as alluded to by @FernandoNobel, it is a way to investigate and interrogate an idea. Here are two examples of my titling. Currently, I put the UUID at the end of the title so more of the title is available in the note list. I don't know… -
Re: [Zettel Feedback]: Poetry Is The Science Of The Real
Will - I think it's a good example of an atomic note. The only question I have is this - how does the title relate to the content of the zettel? If your title is your thesis, then I don't see how the zettel makes a case for it. Nevertheless, I like the zettel. Perhaps it is the title that needs to be re-thought /… -
Re: Share your ZK plans for 27 Mar - 2 Apr? What were your successes from last week?
@Will "discover [that] writing has been done" (left out a "filler" word) summarized very nicely an idea of writing with the Zettelkasten and came from a video shared here in the last week: # 202203231200 Discover writing has already been done with a Zettelkasten#zettelkasten #writing With a Zettelkasten, "the writing has… -
Re: How do you handle confusion when reading for a Zettelkasten?

Re: How do you process historical sources with a Zettelkasten?
It is not a question of either/or but both. A ZK contains a spectrum of ideas and links. A spectrum of idea associations that call for links. From purely independent ideas to developing others' ideas to ideas that others have had about ideas. Some notes are cataclysmic and struggle to contain the burst of your ideas, and… -
Re: I can't find the "writing" article in the "collect, process, write" article collection.
@Jvet This might sound dumb, but I believe that even though the introductions sound so similar, I didn't consider this to be a proper series and thus never wrote the writing piece in that exact spirit. In 2013, I published the posts on my own blog where nowadays mostly the programming stuff survived, so writing about… -
Re: Help for a newcomer
@Haywire, welcome to the forums. I can't speak to the difference between The Archive and a "traditional wiki." But this does bring to mind a useful distinction between methods and tools. There is the Zettelkasten Method, and there are tools for implementing the method. The Archive, wiki software, and a plethora of other…
