[Request] Don't highlight omnibar text when doing a saved search?
I use The Archive for my productivity system as well as my Zettelkasten. I'm regularly using saved searches for things like #Inbox, #Project, #Next, etc. When I hit Cmd-2 to show my list of projects, I would then love to search IN that list. But if I start typing, I erase the "#Project" in the omnibar, because it's… -
Tag Management [Possible feature request]
How do you manage your tags in The Archive? I'd like the ability to: * see all tags * autocomplete tags, to aid with tag recognition and consistancy * ability to edit a tag, that changes the tag in all its instances * combine tags. for example, if I have some #project and others #projects because I lost my head and used… -
Zettelkasten for scientific research
Hi everyone! I'm a computer science student, struggling with note-taking (read: I'm not taking any notes). I'm trying this Zottelkasten graph-based method to improve and motivate myself. The main reason why I usually don't take notes is that I have a pile of wonderful, painfully written, notebooks in my shelf... that is… -
Re: Tag Management [Possible feature request]
Auto-completion or suggesting of tags is on our roadmap for after scriptability and the new editor ship. With scripts, generating an overview of tags will be possible, too. Same with automating review tasks like mass-renaming of tags. Any other text editor or mass text replacement tools will serve you for the time being.… -
Re: Partial sync between computers
I thought of the same. I have a set up in mind for my "write a book in public"-project. The outline is that: * Asign each public note a tag. (##projectname) * Set up a script that regularly copys the tagged notes into a folder (overwriting them if necessary) * (Might be unnecessary for you) Create a simple single document… -
Re: When your Zettelkasten is a mess !
To be honest, I don't use that many structural notes. They do have a place but I feel that overusing them creates too much "top down" organization in your ZK. But everyone has their preference about the use of structural notes - some people really like them. I agree that all zettels are to some extent unfinished. The… -
Re: When your Zettelkasten is a mess !
Thanks for your comments. The way I see it, a Zettelkasten is meant to be give the illusion of an unimportant tool during its infancy. Multiple orphan notes, etc. In a sense, the Zettelkasten reflects the infancy of its author with respect to his field of expertise. But with patience and perseverance, both the Zettelkasten… -
Re: reference management for project notes?
Ahren's answer to that question is to either archive it or delete it. To me, that makes completely sense. Unfortunately the author does not provide any insight into why he proposes a separate reference management. The concept is completely obscure to me Somehow i cannot associate project notes with knowledge… -
Re: reference management for project notes?
Project Notes are just another form of structure—a Structure Note on a project rather than a book or article. The only difference I make is giving the note title's special signifiers, so I can easily distinguish them in the note list and the tag #project for "saved search" capabilities. 202011250546 ★ Jekyll Static Website… -
Re: Is there a good character that will sort after zettel IDs in Title, Z First?
@pat there are so many ways to do accomplish things. Sometimes it is helpful to see alternatives. Maybe a priority and project tag and a saved search could be of value to you. #project #important Use those tags in your zettels (Or your own variations) for the appropriate zettels and create a saved search based on the above…
