MultiMarkdown vs. Pandoc?
Recently there have been some discussions in the forum about Multimarkdown. I know that Sascha and Christian use the Citation Style [12][#bla2020]. And it makes sense to use a standard citation method. My question is: Do Pandoc and MMD do ‚the same thing‘: converting text documents in other Formats? Pandoc seems to be much… -
Re: Some questions I have are keeping me from committing to my Zettelkasten
Sorry for my misunderstanding. I use links formatted like [[yyyyMMddhhmm]] for my internal links. I adopted this standard early on and have sometimes wondered if it was the right decision. Starting over, I'd have the link be the file name and I'd put the UID in the YAML and not the file name. I'd spend more time developing… -
Re: Some questions I have are keeping me from committing to my Zettelkasten
There are no guarantees in life. Just start and make adjustments as you learn more. This is not necessary with modern file systems and apps. Using a time stamp will help future proof your notes. Re: keeping track of key phrases from readings
@Sasha makes a great point. Its important to "attach beautiful wordings to concepts they express". I have varied success with this and I think I'm getting better at sniffing out the essential. The essential concepts being expressed and using my own language. This is the difference between collecting quotes or facts and… -
Re: Understanding the difference between object tags and topic tags
> One thing to remember is that tagging is a small part of a knowledge system or 'tool for thought' so I try and not let myself get too hung up on tagging. I trust it my tagging skills will evolve and get better. And that means tagging when appropriate. In my perspective, my confusion stems from the disconnect I have when…
