[Zettel Feedback] Meta zettelkasting note review "The Power of the ZK Method"
This may be too fluffy for some "rational" types, but I loved working with this idea. It is a note about making notes. I'm primarily interested in formatting suggestions and questions. I'm up for arguing any of the details of the content. I'm trying to make less and less of these #meta-ZK notes. This is one of two #meta-ZK… -
Saved search for tags
Hello fellow zettelnauts, I use the ##tag method from Sasha to signify a root link or parent link attached to a note. When I search for ## I also get all the H2 sections. So I changed all my ##links to @#links, is there a way to have a saved search with a joker like to catch every terms beginning with @# like @#$ or… -

Re: LaTeX Zettelkasten Project for Mathematicians (and other LaTeX users)
@alfred said: That pandoc-amsthm filter is interesting, and the code should be helpful for you. In your sample Markdown note design, unless I'm mistaken, it seems that the single square brackets in [#theorem:example theorem] were a typo? In any case, shouldn't you stick to standard [[WikiLink]] and Markdown link syntax? As… -
Re: "Thought" definition
@ZettelDistraction: Of course, as I just remembered, Obsidian has another name for "lines"—blocks—and one can reference (link to) individual blocks. So one-thought-per-line especially makes sense in Obsidian, although one can use the idea in other software. I'm not a mathematician, but this vaguely reminds me of equation… -
Re: Journaling Zettelkasten stats
@ctietze thanks for moving the discussion. I read CommonMark link destination. spec and see that the link can include all characters. And so it goes! Below, at first, we see the link fully formed. Then an added . and we see the link deform. This is very predictable and occurs whenever there is a . anywhere in the link that… -
Re: Journaling Zettelkasten stats
I've extracted Will's workflow into a new discussion. I guess the answers will evolve, so why not gather the off-topic reply in a separate thread! @mediapathic Regarding the parser, it's the trailing dot for some reason. The CommonMark link destination spec mentions this as any text between < ... >, no exceptions. -

Re: LaTeX Zettelkasten Project for Mathematicians (and other LaTeX users)
Yeah it's good. I've been able to get the example mostly working using a custom pandoc template - by default pandoc doesn't at all optimize for readable LaTeX output. I still have a few issues for which I'm not sure if there are easy fixes. The main problem is that pandoc-amsthm always writes the \newtheorem definitions at… -
Re: Should every note be assigned DIRECTLY to a structure note?
@GeoEng51 , @Shandi For example, if I am taking notes about Zettelkasten (picking this since I can assume we are all familiar with the topic) and at the beginning my notes will be structured based on the source I am reading, like books, articles. 1. So I will have a note titled like Book Title by Author and the content of…
