What happens at the intersection of an idea?
Answer: Ikigai I've been trying to structure my procrastination. I call it positive directional procrastination. These are some of the results. @thomasteepe has got me thinking about tools for idea creation. Even though this one is specifically a digital one, I still want to credit Thomas. Maybe he'd rather I not mention… -
Re: Some questions I have are keeping me from committing to my Zettelkasten
We could maybe discuss YAML frontmatter parsing for 11ty in another thread if you want. This was just meant as a way to get the data into the YAML preprocessor at all -- I hope you can parse these if needed in a preprocessor step? Otherwise, you need tags: ["#science", "#article", "#medical"] which would give you an array… -

Re: Some questions I have are keeping me from committing to my Zettelkasten
There are no guarantees in life. Just start and make adjustments as you learn more. This is not necessary with modern file systems and apps. Using a time stamp will help future proof your notes. Use markdown links when referencing an external file or website. Yes, you should use tags. The way tags are searched for is… -

Re: Some questions I have are keeping me from committing to my Zettelkasten
Sorry for my misunderstanding. I use links formatted like [[yyyyMMddhhmm]] for my internal links. I adopted this standard early on and have sometimes wondered if it was the right decision. Starting over, I'd have the link be the file name and I'd put the UID in the YAML and not the file name. I'd spend more time developing… -

@ctietze said: Aha! Not being a (real) programmer, much less a programming language designer, I hadn't heard the term language ergonomics, which is a term specific to programming language design. I googled "language ergonomics" and quickly found at least a couple of sources (LangDev StackExchange, ProgrammingLanguages… -
Re: The under-stressed importance of a regular review practice.
Sönke Ahrens said a few things in his book that struck home as worth imitating, replicating, worth stealing, but his focus on dividing notes into arbitrary categories wasn't one of them. I use some tagging when I have a note I want to group with other notes covering a similar topic. I use tags to group notes by topic, not…
