Saint Augustine instructs Francesco Petrarch on the ZKM
Critique my zettel. This one is an atomized idea from my reading of _Manguel, Alberto. A history of reading. 2014. _ It is longish at 436 words and includes AI help with translation, a Wikipedia link, the relevant quote, and my assimilation into my ZK. With your help, it can be improved. The content of this note might be… -
[Zettel Feedback] Podcast with children
202301041111 Making family podcast with kids #podcast #children #memorabilia Make a podcast with kids: maybe share with the family, but not public. Then you have memories to look back on later as the kids grow up. Meanwhile, the family has something to listen to once in a while without needing to visit. This could e.g.… -
[Zettel Feedback] Range - David Epstein (overview)
I'm picking up the remainder of Epstein's "Range" to complete my old notes. During the process, I reviewed the overview note for the book that I created in my video series. I have a couple of things planned to break this long note up. I also faintly recall the urge to refactor parts, i.e. stopping to stick to the chapters,… -
[Bug Report] Multiple tabs and windows triggered by Saved Search hotkey
I have a hot key associated with the #proofing Saved Search. After the last update the hotkey now triggers the saved search in all tabs and all the multiple windows that are open rather than just the one with the focus. I usually operate in the two-window mode. I tried changing the hotkey but no joy. -

Re: Question about object tags
Wow, I didn't know that Peter Principle existed. At least I am not the only one suffering it :^) I like the idea of implicit objects, like #career and #peter-principle. I will look for them from now on. Thank you @Sascha ! I also agree with @ctietze that tags closer to verbatim content are more useful (as they are easier… -
Creating a Personal History in your Zettelkasten
I have been working on a Zettelkasten for about 2.5 years. One of my purposes in starting a ZK was to capture brief memories or "snapshots" of my past, with a focus partly on what happened and partly on how I felt (at the time) or feel (now) about that event. I don't pursue this in any organized way, either in relation to… -
Share your ZK plans for 17 July - 23 July 2022
What are your plans for zettelkasting this week? My plans for this coming week include continuing my deep dive into The Tao of Travel by Paul Theroux. Theroux's book is an interesting turn on the philosophy of travel. I'm connecting ideas about the philosophy of travel with relativity and space/time. I'm starting the book… -
Share your ZK plans for 24 APR - 30 Apr? What were your successes from last week?
You can only respond to what you notice. Awareness comes in different shapes and sizes—noticing and learning to nudge your awareness are keystone skills. Please share what you have been working on or will be working on soon. Please share what you wish you'd be working on. Use this as a public accountability tool, as a way… -
[Zettel Feedback] What is luck?
Here is my contribution for consideration. It is a simple example, and pithy (for me), but reflects the structure I attempt to put into my zettels. What is Luck? [[202110172020]] 10-17-2021 08:20 PM tags: #Luck #Determination #Preparation I’ve heard luck defined as simply being well prepared (through hard work of various…
